Title 18 U.S.C. sec. 81
Whoever, within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States, wilfully and maliciously sets fire to or burns any building, structure or vessel, any machinery or buidling materials or supplies, military or naval stores, munitions of war, or any structural aids or appliances for navigation or shipping, or attemts or conspires to such an act, shall be imprisoned for not more than 25 years, fined the greater of the fine under this title or the cost of repairing or replacing any property that is damaged or distroyed, or both.
If the buidling be a dwelling or if the life of any person be placed in jeopardy, he shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both.

First Degree Arson C.R.S. 18-4-101
(1) A person who knowingly sets fire to, burns, causes to be burned, or by the use of any explosive damages or destroy, or causes to be damaged or destroyed, any building or occupied structure of another without his consent commites first degree arson.
(2) First degree arson is a class 3 felony.
(3) A defendant convicted of committing first degree arson by the use of any explosive shall be sentenced by the court in accordance witht he provisions of section 18-1.3-406. (Allowing for sentencing from the midpoint of the presumptive range to not more than twice the maximum of the presumptive range.)
Second Degree Arson C.R.S. 18-4-102
(1) A person who knowingly sets fire to, burns, causes to be burned, or by the use of any explosive damages or destroys, or causes to be damaged or destroyed, any property of another without his consent, other than a building or occupied structure, commits second degree arson.
(2) If the damage is $100.00 or more it is a class 4 felony.
(3) If the damage is less than $100.00 it is a class 2 misdemeanor.
Third Degree Arson C.R.S. 18-4-103
(1) A person who, by means or fire or explosives, intentionally damages any property with intent to defraud commits third degree arson.
(2) Third degree arson is a class 4 felony.
Fourth Degree Arson C.R.S. 18-4-104
(1) A person who knowingly or recklessly starts or maintains a fire or causes an explosion, on his own property or that of another, and by doing so places another in danger of death or serious bodily injury or places any building or occupied structure of another in danger of damage committs fourth degree arson.
(2) If a person is endangered = class fourth felony
(3) If only property is thus endangered and the value of the property is $100.00 or more then a class 2 misdemeanor.
(4) If the property is less than $100.00 then it is a class 3 misdemeanor
